Independent Verification & Validation
Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) is a
process in which an independent organization conducts an
unbiased review of risks, problems, engineering processes,
and products to verify and validate the emerging and final
products meet the customer’s requirements and are engineered
or constructed according to standard practices.
“Independence” is the degree of independence based on
technical independence, managerial independence and
financial independence.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control
Quality Assurance (QA) and its implementing procedures address IV&V quality objectives, management commitment to achieving these objectives, organizational goals, and the expectations and needs of the IV&V customer. Quality Control (QC) verifies the final product meets the product’s requirements, including quality attributes.
